Abstract
The Radziwills of Biržai-Dubingiai branch represented the noblemen society and all the local elite of Biržai Duchy of that period. The members of the Radziwill family (wives, children) and all the leaders of the family of the end of the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century and at the same time the owners of Biržai Duchy – Kristupas I Radvila Perkūnas, Kristupas II Radvila, Jonušas II Radvila – belonged to it. Not only because of their informal social status (they were noblemen), but also because they were the owners of the Duchy. The noblemen part in the structure of Biržai Duchy society consisted of several unequal groups of nobility in demographic, property and professional sense – important noblemen (the owners Radziwills) and petty noblemen (manor clientele and noblemen landholders). It can be said that the lack of sources and their specificity do not allow making deeper conclusions.
