The paper is devoted to „Scorinia", the only academic corporation in Belarusian history which was active at the Stefan Bathory University in Vilnius between 1931 and 1934. Establishing the corporation was, on the one hand, the result of an internal dispute in the Vilnius Belarusian centre; on the other hand, it was an attempt at connecting the Belarusian university milieu to western European academic traditions, thus emphasizing the specific character of an organization of the academic corporation type. Despite these efforts, in historiography, as well as memoirs, an extremely negative image of the corporation was preserved as that of an organization that strived for disunity within the Belarusian movement, manifested pro-Polish sympathies, was associated with the Polish defensive, as well as abusing alcohol. The parts of the corporation's archives which were discovered allowed the authors of this paper to carry out a more in-depth study of its history, identify its members, determine its organizational structures and contacts with the other Belarusian organizations in Vilnius, as well as academic organizations that functioned at the Stefan Bathory University.
