Experimental research was carried out in 2018 - 2019 at the Institute of Engineering and Safety of the Vytautas Magnus University Academy of Agriculture and the Lithuanian Energy Institute. Relevance of the topic - Renewable energy is replacing the usual fuel sources in Lithuania and in the world. Environmental pollution problems are being addressed, and the aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In biomass energy with non-traditional herbaceous plants, various studies are being carried out to determine their suitability not only for biofuels but also for other industries. The aim of the work is to determine the physical - mechanical, energy properties of the granular biofuel of non - traditional herbaceous plants and the impact on the environment during the preparation and burning of pellets. The literary analysis of the final work reviews the herbaceous plants, their use for various purposes, the preparation technology for the production of granular biofuels, and reviews the physical-mechanical and energy properties of biofuels. Studies have shown that unconventional herbaceous plants can partially replace traditional biofuels due to excess chlorine levels in ivory and fibrous nettle pellets, leading to corrosion of heat exchangers.
