Tyrimo tikslas.
Aim of the research. The aim of this study was to investigate the relation between the eating habits and their lifestyle as determined by A. Adler and specificities of looking for information on healthy diet using the social networks. The related survey included 150 respondents of whom 143 were women and 7 were men. Methodology. Respondents of the research completed the Kern Lifestyle Questionnaire, and the questionnaire prepared by author for the purpose of assessment of healthy eating (by the North American Territorial Government Healthy Eating Assessment, 2017). The questionnaire provided for respondents, also included questions about the use of online social networks for search of information on nutrition and socio demographic issues (age, gender, education, financial, and marital status). Results of research. The results revealed that adult marital status are related with dietary choices. Adults who are married/live with a partner or have a partner (even if does not form a common household) tend to eat healthier than single individuals who are without a romantic partner/divorced/widowed. The individuals age, education and financial status do not influence dietary choices. Specificities of the use of online social networks in search of information on nutrition do not significantly influence dietary choices. Nutrition choices are not also significantly influenced by personal attitudes (lifestyle according to Adler). Conclusions. The result and conclusions of the research that are presented show that there is no differences caused by person's age, education, financial status and dietary choices, however, the single individuals who are without the romantic partner/divorced/widowed tend to eat less healthily than those who are married/live with a partner or have a partner (even if does not for a common household). We cannot also conclude that more intense use of the online social networks as well as higher trust in received information on healthier eating and its assessment is directly linked to healthy eating. Characteristics of the person (lifestyle according to Adler) are not directly related with dietary choices.
