The work of a lecturer, like that of a primary school teacher, encourages one to be curious, creative, and to share all of that with others every day. In primary education, there will never be the same day because a primary school teacher leads inquisitive, open-minded, and eager-to-learn primary school students on a path of discovering different subjects, creating conditions for them to actively engage, explore, and discover scientific truths.
Prof. Dr. Daiva Jakavonytė-Staškuvienė, Inspector of Preschool and Primary Education at the European Commission's European Schools
I am glad I chose the path of a primary school teacher because now I have a very multifaceted job. Every day you are not only a teacher, but also an artist, psychologist, doctor, actor, friend, and most importantly – a good example, able to inspire the desire to learn. Every day at work, there are challenges that keep me moving forward and help me grow as a person, encouraging me to improve alongside my students.
Asta Ruginytė, graduate, primary school teacher at VMU Classical Education School
For Vitlio Lyceum, social partnership and dialogue with Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) is an extremely important tool in creating a mature community of educators and addressing relevant issues in education and teacher training. Pedagogical practice at the lyceum and the sharing of experiences complement the subject-specific and general competencies of future teachers, helping students gain pedagogical experience before starting work at school.
