Rita Bendaravičienė

Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Profile

Director of Vytautas Magnus University‘s Quality and Strategy Office, Assistant at the Faculty of Economics and Management, member of the Senate Commission of Study Organization and Quality Management.

Born in 1974 in Kaunas. Gained the degrees of Bachelor of Sociology (1992–1996) and Master of Comparative Politics (1996–1998) at Vytautas Magnus University. Completed the intensive course of comparative politics at the University of Bergen in Norway in 1997. Studied Staff Management programme under Master degree studies of Management at the ISM University of Management and Economics in 2003–2004, and the postgraduate Gestalt Method study programme of Individual Work Training at the Kaunas Gestalt Study Centre in 2005–2006. Pursued a doctoral degree at Vytautas Magnus University (2010–2014) and earned her PhD degree in Social Sciences in 2014.

Has worked at Vytautas Magnus University since 2006: as Rector‘s Assistant for Strategy in 2006–2014; headed the university‘s implemented EU structural fund Project “University Restructurization and Optimization of Activity and Management in the Implementation of Education Reform” (No. VP1-2.1-MM-04-K-01-017) in 2010–2012; worked as VMU 2012–2020 Strategy Preparation Expert in July-December 2011. Has worked as Director of Vytautas Magnus University‘s Quality and Strategy Office since 1 September 2014.

Research priorities include Employer Branding and Organizational Attractiveness. The research focus is on employee motivation and emotional engagement, generational differences in work regulations, uniqueness of higher education institutions, and organizational ecology. Dr. Rita Bendaravičienė teaches Social and Marketing Research, Organizational Communication, Strategy Management.

Attended LLP / Erasmus teaching visits in 2012–2013: held lectures at the University of Foggia in Italy and the European University Cyprus (EUC).

Dr. Bendaravičienė is a member of the European Academy of Management (EURAM).

In 2012–2014 she was awarded by the Research Council of Lithuania five times: three Doctoral Student Scholarships for Academic Achievements and two instances of support for academic visits. In 2013, Dr. Bendaravičienė won the Vytautas Magnus University‘s Competition for Doctoral Students‘ Academic Visits. Received the award for the Most Active Doctoral Student of Social Sciences at VMU in 2014. Received the commendation by the VMU Rector on the occasion of the university‘s 25th reestablishment anniversary in 2014.
