Balts

Balts is a youth club founded by the university’s students in 2005 and uniting Lithuanians who have studied in Latvia and Latvian students who have come to VMU. The club is open to everyone interested in the languages and cultures of Lithuanians and Latvians.

Club’s meetings take place once a month. The members watch Latvian and Lithuanian movies, discuss the two countries’ literature, culture and other topics. Guests from Latvia come to read lectures, collaborations are established with the VMU Centre of Letonics and the Lithuania-Latvia Forum association, Baltic summer camps are organised, etc.
