Everyday physical activity of our children is insufficient and does not match international recommendations. Approximately one third of schoolchildren in Europe are named as sufficiently physically active while in Lithuania the situation is that only slightly more than 14 % of schoolchildren from major cities are considered to be active enough. Such decline in physical activeness naturally leads to health issues. As a result, it is already loudly announced the country to have left with about 40 % healthy schoolchildren. There are many factors to determine such decrease in state of health among youth. The very main factors would be deficit in funding proper infrastructure, poor motivation, lack of professionals, etc. The discussions on implementing Law on Physical Education and Sport requirement of three weekly PE lessons in comprehensive schools as well as establishing of obligatory number of practice classes in vocational schools, non-university schools, and universities have taken more than ten years without any results.
