Abstract: Investigations were carried out during 2016–2017 in the JRC laboratory of Agrobiotechnology and institute of Biology and plant biotechnology in the faculty of Agronomy at the Aleksandras Stulginskis University. The aim of work was to evaluate the influence of cytokinin BAP on poinsettia organogenesis in vitro. Apical shoot explants were cultured on Murashige and Skoog‘s (MS) medium supplemented with cytokinin 6–benzylaminopurine (BAP) (1.0–5.0 mg l-1). Investigated concentrations of BAP in medium influenced poinsettia shoot formation frequency in vitro from 46.67 % till 96.67 %. The highest shoots formation number per explant established in medium with 4.0 mg l-1 BAP
