Abstract: The paper analyzes natural, technical and economical criteria determining the value of drained land. The mentioned criteria include the effect of draining on soil productivity, the dependence of reliability of drainage systems on their lifetime under different operation conditions, as well as the peculiarities of the amount of land reclamation structures and territorial distribution of economical indices. As it has been determined, the evaluation of drained land must be based on zonal principles because the territories are distinguished by typical values of the evaluation criteria. Common evaluation of drained area is a function of correction coefficients of land value that estimate the principal factors determining the value of drained land
