In order to investigate the power efficiency and its environmental impact the precision of the positioning of the shuttle gantry system operating in the straight-line course in the field has been tested during the soil tillage and vegetable growing. As a result the experimental modular positioning system has been designed. The distance between two technological tracks has been 16 m. During positioning the two-wheeled chassis has been constantly moving along technological tracks. Operating parts are periodically transferred along the beam with the help of a trawl winch. Chasis and the trawl winch are driven by electrical hydraulic gear that is powered via the cable. Self-control laser system is used to keep the chassis course direct and to ensure the constant of chassis wheels and operating units. The controller adjusts the direct course according to the roughness or the technological tracks when the preset deviation limit has been exceeded. In order to keep an equal distance between the nonoperation chassis mode, the mechanism of automated wheel with a horizontal link and the motion limit stop has been constructed. The infrared-rays sensor system for the mechanical leaf folding has been used for the positioning of the operating units of the shuttle gantry module in the inter-row plant position.
