Abstract: Energy input of biogas production from perennial grass silage has been investigated in this paper. Usage of perennial grass silage into biogas causes 363 MJ/ton direct and 128,4 MJ/ton indirect energy input. Energy consumption depends on the selected technology, organic load, retention time, weather conditions, as well as the quantity of raw materials. The biggest energy input is 569,8 MJ/ton at 1,0 kg/(m3 d) organic load, and the smallest-491,5 MJ/ton at 2,0 kg/(m3d) in biogas plant
