Abstract: Chemistry is one of fundamental disciplines for the first-year students at faculties of Agronomy, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering and Water and Land Management. At the beginning of studies testing of knowledge in chemistry has been carried out. At the faculty of Agronomy only 20% of the first-year students answered correctly to more than half of test questions in inorganic chemistry and 18% - in organic chemistry. The results of testing are worse than in 2002/2003 year
