dc.description.abstractIn 2001-2002 trials were carried out to establish the optimal beetroot crop density and fertilization for varieties of different morphotypes according to the dynamics of photosynthetical parameters formation during the vegetation on carbonatious gleic brown soil in the trial field of LIH. The maximum assimilation surface of various beetroot varieties forms in the middle of July - beginning of August. This is the time when the highest productivity of pure photosynthesis is observed. Another maximum of pure photosynthesis productivity is observed in September. The limiting factors of the area of bectroot assimilation surface and pure photosynthesis productivity are unfavorable hydrothermal regime (hydrothermal coefficient 0.5-1) in August and insufficient sun irradiation. Genotype, irradiation and hydrothermal regime produce the greatest effect on the dynamics of photosynthetical parameters formation in beetroot crop. The recommended seed rate for intensive beetroot varieties is 0.7 mln. ha-1, for extensive - 0.5 mln. ha-1en
