Baikal skullcap (Scutellaria Baicalensis Georgi) is a perennial herbaceous plant from family Labiatae. It can be found growning wild in Japan, China, Korea and Russia. Extracts of Baikal skullcap have a wide pharmacological action. Anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, antiallergic, neuroprotective, antimicrobial, anxiolytic, anticancer activities were reported as well as a beneficial impact on heart and vessel system.
