Abstract: The collections of ornamental plants in Kaunas Botanical Garden of Vytautas Magnus University make the constituent of the scientific investigative work and the object of the research (mycological, antifungal, fluorescence, genetic research et other), also there is rare plant collecting and reserving base. Plants are grown in six greenhouse sections by geographic-climatic principle. The data of taxonomical analysis estimated that 1253 species of ornamental plants belonging to 423 genera, 132 families, 14 subclasses, 8 classes, 62 ranges and to 4 divisions. It was identified 112 fungal species belonging to 37 genera, 8 families, 5 ranges, 3 class and 3 divisions
