Abstract
This paper analyzes the style of the text produced by Lithuanina Jesuit writer Konstantinas Sirvydas (~1578-1631). His Punktai Sakymų are being compared To Kazania sejmowe (Sermons to the Diet) written by his predecessor, Vilnius University rector, also Jesuit, Piotr Skarga (1536-1612). Though both the authors were very creative when holding sermons at St. Johns‘ Church in Vilnius, their styles differ in various aspects. Their Bible interpretations, composition structures and stylictic figures differ. As Skarga can be considered an Early Baroque author writing under the strong Renaissance influence, the analyzed work by Sirvydas is rather an example of matured Baroque style, using unusual sermon rhetoric.
