Abstract: The studies in the welfare societies have indicated that the risk of the first myocardial infarction varies among women in different occupational categories, sharing the direction of the elevated risk in the lower socioeconomic groups. The risk of the first myocardial infarction among female occupational categories in Lithuania has not yet been established. The objective of the present study was to estimate the risk of the first myocardial infarction among women in different occupational categories in Kaunas, Lithuania
