Abstract (en)
The muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus) is distributed across almost all of Lithuania and lives in or near water most of their lives. Genetic variation of 32 individuals of O.zibethicus in population of Rusnė was analyzed by a randomly amplified polymorphic DNA polymerase chain reaction (RAPD-PCR) technique using ten primers (ROTH-01, ROTH-02, ROTH-03, ROTH-04, ROTH-05, ROTH-06, ROTH-07, ROTH-08, ROTH-09, ROTH-10). Visual examintation of electrophoresis gels showed that number of polymorphic loci is 96. TREECON programmers was used for the estimation of genetic variability.
