Abstract: Straipsnyje analizuojama letinio nugaros skausmo itaka žmogaus gyvenimui, atsižvelgiant i jos sasajas su asmens naudojamomis skausmo iveikos strategijomis. Tikslas – letinio nugaros skausmo itakos asmens funkcionavimui ryšys su skausmo iveikos strategijomis, atsižvelgiant i skausmo trukme. Metodika. Tyrimas buvo atliekamas anketines apklausos budu. Statistine duomenu analize atlikta remiantis 70 letini nugaros skausma patirianciu moteru atsakymais. Tyrime skausmo itakai žmogaus gyvenimui išmatuoti naudota Plataus pro*lio skausmo klausimyno (angl. West Haven-Yale Multidimensional Pain Inventory (WHYMPI)) (Kerns, Turk, Rudy, 1985) pirmoji skale. Skausmo iveikos strategijoms naudoti – Vanderbilt skausmo iveikos klausimynas (angl. The Vanderbilt Pain Management Inventory (VPMI)) (Brown, Nicassio, 1987). Rezultatai, išvados. Labiau išreikštas skausmo trukdymas žmogaus gyvenimo sritimims, stipresnis skausmas, žemesne asmens savikontrole ir blogesne nuotaika siejasi su intensyvesniu pasyviu skausmo sureikšminimo ir socialines paramos paieškos iveikos strategiju taikymu. Ilgesnes skausmo trukmes grupeje didesnis skausmo trukdymas žmogaus gyvenimo sritims, stipresnis skausmas ir blogesne asmens nuotaika siejasi su intensyvesniu pasyviu skausmo sureikšminimo ir socialines paramos paieškos iveikos strategiju taikymu, o žemesne asmens savikontrole – tik su pasyvios skausmo sureikšminimo strategijos naudojimu. Trumpesnes skausmo trukmes grupeje didesnis skausmo trukdymas žmogaus gyvenimo sritimims siejasi su intensyvesniu pasyviu skausmo sureikšminimo ir socialines paramos paieškos strategiju taikymu, mažesne artimuju parama ir žemesne asmens savikontrole – tik su pasyvios socialines paramos paieškos strategijos naudojimu, o blogesne asmens nuotaika – tik su pasyvios skausmo sureikšminimo strategijos taikymu
The article analyzes association between the impact of chronic low back pain on people’s lives and the use of pain management strategies. Purpose. To analyze association between chronic low back pain impact on person’s functioning and the use of pain management strategies, taking into account pain durations. Methods. Investigation was assessed by the questionnaire survey. Statistical analysis was based on the 70 women, su,ering from chronic back pain, answers to the questionnaire. Pain impact on people’s lives was assessed by use of the *rst scale of The West Haven-Yale Multidimensional Pain Inventory (WHYMPI)) (Kerns, Turk, Rudy, 1985). The use of pain coping strategies – by The Vanderbilt Pain Management Inventory (VPMI) (Brown, Nicassio, 1987). Results and conclusions. Increased levels of pain interference, pain severity, decreased self-control and good mood is associated with more intensive use of passive pain catastrophizing and social support seeking strategies. Increased levels of pain interference, pain severity and low mood in longer pain duration group is associated with more intensive use of passive pain catastrophizing and social support seeking strategies, while lower self-control only with use of passive pain catastrophizing strategy. Increased level of pain interference in shorter pain durance group is associated with more intensive use of passive pain catastrophizing and social support seeking strategies, while decreased levels of signi*cant others support and self-control only with use of passive social support seeking strategy, and increased low mood – only with passive pain catastrophizing strategy
