Abstract: Apžvelgti taikomosios dailės tyrimus, vykusius Lietuvoje XX a. II pusėje – XXI a. pradžioje, paskatino dėmesio šiai meno sričiai stoka (lyginant taikomosios dailės analizę su architektūros, vaizduojamosios ar postmodernistinės dailės tyrimų mastu, juntamas akivaizdus šio santykio netolygumas). Pastebimi ir teigiami pokyčiai: taikomosios dailės tyrinėjimuose pagausėjo įgyvendintų mokslo darbų, išleistų monografijų, personalinių albumų, katalogų. Todėl užsibrėžta išsiaiškinti, kaip XX a. II pusės – XXI a. 1-ojo dešimtmečio laikotarpiu keitėsi lietuvių taikomosios dailės tyrimai, kiek juos lėmė istorinė ir meninė situacija, pasipildančios taikomosios dailės tyrėjų gretos, nauji metodologiniai reikalavimai. Straipsnyje siekiama išskirti svarbesnius taikomosios dailės tyrimus, juos susisteminti ir pateikti kiekybinės apžvalgos bei kokybinių pokyčių aspektu. Ketinama apibrėžti, kokie taikomojo meno reiškiniai (etapai, sritys) mūsų teoretikų yra geriausiai išanalizuoti, bei įvardinti nūdienos taikomosios dailės tyrimų spragas ir trūkumus. [...]
The article systematizes and discusses the research of applied art from the second half of the 20th century to the early 21st century, conveys the specifics, theoretical and historical guides on the basis of quantitative review. The researches of applied art are analysed more precisely by deepening into the types, aspects, and reflections on more solid publications of scientific inquiries. The paper reviews the main researchers of the Lithuanian applied art and the fields of their scholastic activities, as well as discusses the methodology of their research. Finally, the subjects missing in the analysis of the Lithuanian applied art are pointed out and evaluated. On the one hand, the reason which encouraged the review of the researches of applied art which took place from the 20th c. end till the early 21st c., was the lack of attention for this branch of art. On the other hand, positive changes in the exploration of applied art have been recently noticed: a considerable amount of scientific works, monographs, personal albums, and catalogues have been successfully published. Up till now, the research of the applied arts in Lithuania has been mostly focused on systematization of historical and developmental facts. Unfortunately, in the course of the research, no journals or newspapers, which would have reflected the history of applied art sequentially in its entirety, and not in separate stages, were originated. In comparison with the exploration of the Lithuanian architecture and graphic art history exploration, the history of applied art was getting far less attention at all times (in the interwar period, in the Soviet Union, as well as nowadays). The most noticeable progress was made in the cognition of ancient and contemporary Lithuanian textile and costume art. A sophisticated research was carried out on metal-works and jewellery. [...]
