Abstract
Introduction. At the 21th century, specific attention is paid to introduction, cultivation, preservation and phytochemical research of medicinal, spices (aromatic) plants MAPs and to the evaluation of their quality and quantity [2, 3, 9, 10]. The biodiversity and introduction of MAPs species and varieties is important from the scientific and practical point of view. On purpose to profuse the variety of plant species and solve the problems of national genetic resources protection and herbal drugs industry development, since 1924 scientists of Botanical Garden of Vytautas Magnus University have been implementing long-lasting trials and supervisions dedicated for introduction and acclimatization of MAPs [4, 8]. Therefore, it is very important to look for the new prospective plants and study less investigated MAPs as a possible source for such biologically active compounds.
