Abstract: Big data and analytics have moved up to the top of many companies’ agenda. These are striving to become data-driven, transforming the way they do business by making data and analytics part of their business strategy, its systems, processes and culture to drive growth and build competitive differentiation. Euroleague Basketball is focused on a customer-centric strategy and to create more value to its fans and business it must develop initiatives regarding data acquisition, data management, technology, processes and people to become a data-driven company. This master thesis will provide an understanding of the current state of data and analytics maturity at Euroleague Basketball using qualitative and quantitative methods. Based on the field analysis, recommendations where to apply data analytics and how to build analytical capabilities in the dimensions of data, enterprise, leadership, targets and analysts are presented.
