Important Information to Students About Start of AY 2020-2021
As the new academic year is about to begin, VMU sends the warmest greetings to all students and provides a reminder of some important information about the lectures.
For first-year MA students and non-first-year students of all levels, the lectures of specialty subjects start on 31 August, foreign language lectures start on 3 September, and Group A subjects’ lectures start on 10 September.
For first-year BA and integrated studies’ students, lectures will start on 10 September. The first-year students are invited to attend the traditional introductory week of events, “Introduction to Studies at VMU 2020” („Įvadas į studijas VDU 2020“), which will take place on 1-9 September. All important information and program is provided on the event’s website (in Lithuanian).
For students of part-time studies, lectures will start in accordance with timetables determined by the faculties.
All Group A and Group B subjects, as well as Group C subjects attended by 50 or more students or those that cannot ensure that safety requirements are followed, will be taught remotely. This will be done in order to ensure a safe environment, comply with the rulings by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, who is also the head of state-level national emergency operations, and follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, the National Public Health Centre, and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport regarding the activities of higher education institutions during the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
We kindly request everyone to be mindful when participating in activities at the university and to follow the recommendations that help us remain healthy and reduce the risk of getting infected with the coronavirus: keep a safe distance during lectures and seminars, sit in every other seat, wear personal protective equipment which covers nose and mouth (face masks, respirators and other equipment), wash hands regularly and, if you feel symptoms of cold or other infectious diseases, stay home.
All information about timetable changes will be provided by the faculties before the start of the lectures.
