Living in Lithuania:
Before the beginning of every semester, we are inviting students to participate in the Survival Lithuanian course. This course introduces students to a very basic knowledge of Lithuanian that would help to “survive” in Lithuania. In this intensive course, students learn to introduce themselves, provide basic biographical information, ask for the prices while shopping, ask for directions, order food, and learn basic information about the university, as well as other useful everyday phrases in Lithuanian.
The duration of this course is only one week. This course has 2 ECTS.
The course is organised in two forms: online and onsite (you can choose).
Only those who register can participate. Students can choose the type of course: online or on-site.
Registration deadline - January 18
Registration form
Note for exchange programme students: if you decide to join this course, it must be included in your Learning Agreement.
About DON@. The initiative was implemented as part of DON@ – Donation Opportunities for Newcomers (2022–2024). Currently, ESN VMU Kaunas is in charge of organizing events for students. The project's main objective is to support the integration and improve the living conditions of students with fewer opportunities by promoting mutual support, inclusion, and sustainable development. Read more about the DON@ project here.
The upcoming "Sharing is Caring" event will be held on Friday, August 29, from 16:00 to 17:00 at VMU Dormitory No. 2 (Baltija), Vytauto pr. 71, 44321 Kaunas. All new international students (full-time and exchange) are welcome to join and pick up free items left by former students – from kitchenware and electronics to study materials and more. At this event, you can meet other new students, take part in a lottery, and find both new friends and useful items to help you settle into your new home in Kaunas. Registration is required, as the lottery will be based on the participant number from the Google Form list. Register here!
