Research on the Grand Duchy of Lithuania State and Society Development
Research overview
Cluster explores the processes of state and society in the period of Grand Duchy of Lithuania (GDL) with special emphasis on social and political features of these processes. The main areas of research of cluster are discourse on GDL state and society, state political development, the social structure of society, and the role of dynasty in the Lithuanian state and social life. A range of various researches on GDL society and social structure are carried out, history of nobility is analysed, political relations between GDL and neighbours are explored, emphasizing themes of diplomacy, ceremonial, territory development, historical geography and cartography, dynasty structure, book history and culture. The relationship of the Church with various sectors of society, historical ties of Lithuania and Western Europe are explored, the researches of historical sources are carried out.
